A New Swing Set

Casen got a new swing set today! Thanks Pops! He loves it! It has the little blue swing on one side and then on the other, it has a tire swing that looks like a horse! It is super cute! We have already had to swing two times!

Almost Forgot!

I almost forgot about Casen's REAL birthday! He ate a cupcake with his Mom and Dad! Funny thing is, he wanted to lick it without putting his fingers in it! It was too cute!

Casen does NOT have hydrocephalus! Wahoo!

His little (big) head is absolutely PERFECT!

1 year Stats

We went to the doctor Friday July 17th. It was not fun at all! Not only did we have a long wait, but after we saw the doctor, they had to draw blood and give him 3 shots! Casen was VERY unhappy with us. The first time they drew blood, it didn't work out. Apparently his viens roll just like his mom's. So after they dug around a little in his arm, the nurse decided to try again in his little hand! It was so sad! Other than that, everything else went well. He is a healthy little boy!

Here are his stats:

32 inches tall (this is off of the chart)

26 pounds (90th percentile)

his head is 19 1/2 inches which is in the 99th percentile


There is only a little bit of bad news from the doctor; since Casen's head is continuing to grow (just like the rest of his body) the doctor has decided to have a CT Scan run on Casen just to make sure that he doesn't have excess fluid in his brain (hydrocephalus) . They aren't going to use any sedative for the scan, so I am sure it will be ALOT of fun. He will be strapped to a board and he has to lay still for 5 minutes! Woohoo!

The doctor is almost positive that he is just fine, but she just wants to rule it out! Please keep little Casen in your prayers!

1st Birthday Party!

Happy Birthday to Casen! Happy Birthday to Casen! Happy Birthday dear Casen, Happy Birthday to Casen! (Almost! He turns one on July 16th!)
He did have his party on Saturday and he had a blast! He swam with his friends and didn't even start to get tired until the very end! All of his grandparents and uncles were there, and he even had two sets of great grandparents there! He was very loved! (actually he even had a great-great aunt there too!)

Trouble Maker

Well, at least that is what his pajamas say! To me, he's perfect! Here he is just relaxing in his pj's with mom, while dad is at work keeping us safe!

Casen's First Trip to Mona's

Mona is the best! I am so glad that a friend of ours that really cares about our family got to cut Casen's hair for the first time!

Happy Fourth of July!

We had a great 4th of July! The only thing that would have made it better, is if Michael didn't have to work! (but it comes with the territory!) We had lunch at Noni and Pop's house and then went to church to watch the fireworks! Casen loved the fireworks, he just stared at them!

Mini Vacation

Last weekend, we met Shea and Joey in Dallas (well, Grapevine). We had a great time, but it was sooooo hot! We sweated at the Ft. Worth Zoo, the Cattle Barn Flea Market, and the Stockyards, and we went to the mall, Cabelas, and The Magic Time Machine. Thank goodness that the mall, Cabelas, and the Magic Time Machine had ac!

Casen liked the aquariums the best, i think it is because the fish kind of glow. We had such a great time, we cant wait to go back!

Brownwood Lake

This is Casen's first lake dip! He has been to the lake (Nana and Papa's House) so many times, but this is the first time that he actually got in! We knew that he would love it, because he loves water!
