Hook'em Horns

Each day that I see Casen out and about and feeling better, I know that we are truely blessed! He is feeling so much better! We even went to visit our new land with Uncle Zach. It's a game day, so Zach and Casen sported their best Horns attire (Just like every Saturday in the fall!).
HOOK'EM HORNS!
(By the way, they won today!)

Walking down the road with Zach.

Running FAST!

What a cutie!

Playing football

I think he might be a kicker (his dad wont be so happy about that!), because he just kept kicking the ball all over the place!

Tired Boy!

Casen fell asleep eating his lunch today! Good thing he was almost finished!

Proof

Here is the proof that Casen is doing so much better! He moved this car in front of the tv in our computer room and stood in it like a stool so that he could get a better look at what was on tv! I thought it was too cute!

I really enjoy seeing Casen doing these types of things! He is having to use his critical thinking skills! (I know, this is such a teacher thing to say!)

Salmonella

Yes that's right! Poor Casen had Salmonella, not just any old salmonella but the worse kind of all! The kind of salmonella that effects your blood and your intestines. Although it was the worse month of his life (and OURS!), he is on the up and up. After 8 days in the hospital, and 21 days of an at home iv antibiotic every 6 hours, he is doing much better! We are still taking 21 days of an oral antibiotic, and then hopefully it wont come back! It might, so we have to have 3 months of stool samples! His Dr. thinks he is doing really well and is quite optimistic that he won't have a relapse! If he does, we will have to have his gall bladder taken out! I am just hoping and praying for a full recovery!

Here are a few pictures of Casen's nightmare stay in the hospital! The hospital was great and the nurses were wonderful (well, most of them!), it was just a nightmare for us!

This is Casen's hospital bed and room!

Casen laid around like this for most of his stay. He did not feel well at all! He was watching tv with Michael.

This is the bed that Michael and I had to sleep on together while we were there. It was so tiny, but we were so exhausted so the little sleep we did get was not bothered by how small this bed was!

This is Casen's picc line. This was used for an iv port and to draw blood from.

He was feeling much better in this picture. He was getting a little stir crazy and ready to get home! We were just happy to have our little Casen on the road to recovery!

All in all, it has been a wild crazy month! BUT Casen is doing remarkably better!
